Pilsbury Castle was a Norman castle in Derbyshire near the present-day village of Pilsbury, overlooking the River Dove.
A note from Jo & Rob
The walk along the river Dove from Alstonefield to Hartington is a spectacular circular walk which makes a great day out with a stop in Hartington for lunch and return via Biggin Dale. For another option park in Hartington and follow the upper Dove, The Spink pools make a good picnic spot. If you head towards Pilsbury, past Pilsbury Castle (it’s only grassy mounds now) you will eventually get to Crowdecote and The Pack House Inn. You’ll have the option of two ridge walks back into Hartington.
